Partnership objective:
Creating and testing the model solution, in the form of a cluster of theme villages, used to enable the country inhabitants living in the marginal areas to enter and return to the labour market.
A theme village develops around the commonly worked out idea for development, aiming to become a quasi-company offering a comprehensive product. For its foundation, development factors and skills, the validity and usefulness of which has not been taken into consideration before, can be used. Creation of the cluster of villages cooperating with one another results from the necessity of:
- testing the theme village model under the conditions of a few villages situated in the similar area;
- mutual support by inhabitants of theme villages and providing support for learning processes;
- increasing the effectiveness of marketing and the chances of the “survivability” of the model by creation of a cluster of theme villages.
Foundation of a theme village assumes intervention in its social system, shaping the space for learning and earning and is the response to the need of introduction of the village inhabitants into the knowledge-based economy area. Under the project the new areas of earning related to the so-called emotion-based economy and new forms of training and work will be tested. Together with inhabitants of the villages participating in the project, the following initial subjects of specialisation were determined:
- D±browa – Healthy Life Village
- Iwięcino – End of the World Village
- Paproty – Village of Labyrinths and Sources
- Podgórki – Fairy Tale and Play Village
- Sierakowo Sławieńskie – Hobbits’ Village
Detailed objectives:
1. Preparation of and testing the methods for creation of organisational and content-related base for functioning of the cluster of theme villages.
2. Identification and valorisation of developmental factors of the village in the context of their use in tourism and education – preparation of the working package under the supranational cooperation.
3. Preparation of and testing the model of social and occupational development of final beneficiaries to allow them enter the labour market, in combination with creation of theme village products suited to the knowledge-based economy.

“Eurovillage” is the supranational partnership the establishment of which is a part of the EQUAL programme. The partners are individual national partnerships and for the “Eurovillage” Partnership these are:

The purpose of the “Eurovillage” Partnership is to create the integrated model solutions on the domestic level based on the domestic policies and activities for local development, in particular in the marginal rural areas. The model solutions will focus not only on domestic aspects, but they will also include the possibilities of development of fixed networks of cooperation between the countries participating in the Partnership.
